Pro Bono Capstone Program
Prometheus provides experiential learning opportunities through real-world projects with nonprofit partners. Prometheus connected Marcy Lab alumni with CodeHouse, supporting alumni as they developed a custom application to help students launch meaningful careers in technology.
The Marcy Lab School is a rigorous yet affordable college alternative that prepares underrepresented young adults to launch careers in tech. Marcy Lab partnered with Prometheus to provide their alumni with a real-world pro bono capstone program at the end of their 2024-2025 Career Launch Accelerator Program.
The capstone program equipped alumni with the confidence, leadership, and technical skills needed to excel in their careers.

“Our partnership with Prometheus enabled Marcy Lab School's Career Launch Accelerator participants to collaborate with Codehouse, a non-profit organization whose mission deeply aligns with our own. Through this initiative, our alumni worked on production-level projects, strengthening their technical skills, gaining valuable industry experience, and engaged in meaningful collaboration with their peers.” - Michael Oppong (Director of Alumni Success, The Marcy Lab School )

“My experience working on a Prometheus project was great as it allowed me to not only freshen up my skills as a software engineer but also grow as a leader, make proactive decisions in my team [and] to communicate better with given time restraints to my project manager and my teammates. I feel more confident as a software engineer finishing my project and got more real-work experience on what building a project for a client may look like…” - Joseph (Marcy Lab Alum)
